Privacy Policy

Dagbook is a habit tracker and journal app for iPhone and Mac, developed and operated by Aleksandr Khoroshevskii, an individual developer based in Cyprus (European Union) ("I", "me"). This policy explains what data Dagbook collects, why, and what your rights are.

The short version: Dagbook collects only what is needed to sync your trackers and journal across your devices, and whatever you choose to tell me through the feedback form. There are no ads, no analytics trackers, and your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

What data is collected

When you sign in with your Google or Apple account, Dagbook collects:

If you use Send feedback in the app, Dagbook also collects:

Dagbook does not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or any browsing data. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

You can use Dagbook without an account. In that case all data stays on your device and nothing is collected.

Why it is collected

Account and content data are used for exactly one purpose: making the app work — signing you in, syncing your trackers and journal between your devices, and restoring them if you get a new device. This processing is necessary to provide the service you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Feedback is used only to read and answer what you sent and to fix the problem you reported (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in keeping the app working, which you initiate yourself).

Nothing is used for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone for marketing purposes.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase (the app's database, storage and authentication provider) on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Sign-in is handled by Google or Apple, depending on which you choose; their own privacy policies apply to the sign-in step itself. These providers process data on my behalf and cannot use it for their own purposes.

The artwork for rewards is downloaded from the same servers the first time a reward is shown and then kept on your device. That download carries nothing about you beyond what any web request carries.

How long it is kept

Your account data is kept for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, all of your data — profile, photo, trackers, journal and rewards — is permanently deleted from the servers. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete the app.

Feedback messages are deleted once they have been handled, and in any case within 12 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (and UK GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. In Dagbook you can do most of this directly, without asking anyone:

For anything else — including deleting a feedback message you sent, or if something doesn't work — email me at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Dagbook is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact me and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way — for example, when subscriptions are introduced — the date at the top will be updated and significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
